Dr. Marotta is active in the Oklahoma Writing community and belongs to Oklahoma Writers Federation and The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Her current work in progress is a picture book based on the true-life relationship between artist George Rodrigue and his dog Tiffany.  The picture book introduces art therapy to help children express grief feelings about the death of a pet.

Here is the pitch: George is an artist with an eye for color who is inspired by the friendship of his dog Tiffany. When Tiffany dies, George believes he will never paint again.  Every day he faces a lonely blank canvas. Will George be able to restore color to his world without Tiffany?
